Tarangire National Park
Manyara Region, northern Tanzania. Established in 1970, Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. The best time to visit is June-October. By road: 2 hours from Arusha. By air: Kuro airstrip.

The park features rolling savannah, swamps, and riverine forest. Wildlife includes elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and over 550 bird species. Game drives are best for elephant and bird watching. Points of interest include Tarangire River, Silale Swamp, and Baobab Trees. The park is also known for its rich Maasai culture and conservation efforts.
