Kidepo Valley National Park
Northeastern Uganda, bordering South Sudan and Kenya. Established in 1962, Kidepo is known for its remote wilderness and unique wildlife not found elsewhere in Uganda. The best time to visit is September-March. By road: 10-12 hours from Kampala. By air: Kidepo airstrip.
Wildlife, Safari & Points of Interest
The park features rugged savannah, mountains, and seasonal rivers. Wildlife includes lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and ostriches. Game drives are excellent for remote wildlife viewing. Points of interest include Narus Valley, Kidepo River, and Kanangorok Hot Springs. The park is also known for its cultural encounters with the Karamojong people.
