Kibale National Park
Western Uganda, near Fort Portal. Established in 1993, Kibale is renowned for its high density of primates, especially chimpanzees, and its rich rainforest. The best time to visit is June-September, December-February. By road: 5-6 hours from Kampala.

The park features tropical rainforest, swamps, and grasslands. Wildlife includes chimpanzees, monkeys, forest elephants, and over 375 bird species. The main activity is chimpanzee trekking, with guided treks to see chimpanzees. Points of interest include Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary and Kanyanchu Visitor Centre. The park is also known for its stunning landscapes and biodiversity.
